What BEST knows
Common questions
Do I need a car in the Faroe Islands?
For most of the country, yes. Tórshavn works entirely without one, and the bus network reaches the larger villages, but places like Saksun and Gjógv have no practical service. Every BEST stay states its car dependence.
Is the price I see the price I pay?
Yes. Every fee the property charges is included in the total and itemised. Tolls, ferry fares and landowner access fees are paid to others and listed separately.
Can BEST tell me when the next bus leaves?
No. There is no machine-readable national timetable. We can show you where a stop is; we cannot tell you when the bus comes.
What happens if a ferry is cancelled?
Contact us through the trip. We will ask the property to waive any charge, though the decision is theirs. We have no live feed for cancellations, so we will not know unless you tell us.
Is NORA an AI chatbot?
No. Every observation NORA makes is a rule applied to real data, and each one shows the basis it was derived from.
Can I book anything on BEST right now?
No. This is a preview build. Accommodation, prices and bookings are sample data. The place, weather and transport information is real.
What languages does BEST work in?
English today. Føroyskt, Dansk and Español are planned, and the product has been built so content can be translated rather than rebuilt.
When should I visit?
May and September are the best compromises between daylight, open services and crowds. June to August for puffins and the longest light. Winter is atmospheric but many services reduce.
