What BEST does differently

BEST is a travel companion for one country. That narrowness is the point: we can know the Faroe Islands properly in a way a global booking site cannot, and we can admit the gaps in that knowledge instead of papering over them.

Where our information comes from

Place, weather and transport information is real, drawn from public Faroese and Nordic sources. We name them on every page that uses them.

Why a small country still needs this

The Faroe Islands look close together on a map. On the ground, a good day depends on wind direction, cloud height, ferry capacity, tunnel routes, opening hours and knowing when the view will actually appear.

• The forecast changes by island. Sun in Tórshavn can mean fog on Vágar and strong wind in the north, so we read conditions around a specific place rather than showing one national forecast.
• Transport shapes the experience. Some islands need a ferry, others a subsea tunnel, and a missed connection can cost half a day.
• The internet gives you famous places. It rarely tells you when they are overcrowded, hidden by cloud, or unsafe in the wind.
• Local knowledge is scattered across official notices, opening times and several languages. We bring the useful parts into one answer.
