Cancellation

What happens if your plans change

Property terms restated in a sentence you can act on, with the actual date rather than a number of days.

Cancellation terms are written by properties, usually in language designed to be technically accurate rather than understood. BEST restates them in a sentence you can act on.

The three kinds

FreeCancel before the stated date and nothing is charged.
Part refundableCancel after the date and part of the total is kept — usually one night or half.
Non-refundableCancelling costs the full amount, at any point.

On every stay we show the actual date, not a number of days — "free to cancel until 10 September" rather than "free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival", which requires you to do arithmetic while deciding.

Practical advice for a Faroese trip

  • Book the flexible stays first and leave non-refundable ones until the plan is firm.
  • Weather here changes plans more often than in most destinations. Price that in.
  • If a ferry cancellation strands you, tell us — we will ask the property to waive the charge, though we cannot promise it.

BEST adds no cancellation fee of its own. Anything shown is the property’s own term.

Weather changes Faroese plans more than most places.
